Our mission is to provide opportunities for you to challenge yourself and grow.

We Thrive Here!

Amazing G provides a safe, nurturing homelike environment where young girls, between the ages of 12-18, can reach their full potential. We give them the necessary tools to help them prepare to take their place in society as bright, confident, self-sufficient young women. Dignity and respect are interwoven throughout all the programs and services offered. Every care has been given to the home, and our treatment model focuses on education. With a team that has more than 20 years of combined experience our girls receive a holistic approach in the development of their Individual Service Plan. A key element of the clinical therapy includes Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). This is a type of therapy born from the union of cognitive therapy and meditative principles. The marriage of these ideas is MBCT, a powerful therapeutic tool that can be successfully applied to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more.

We also tackle personal hygiene, provide a nutritionally diverse meal plan, physical activity and assist with school work. Interpersonal and life skills are also taught as part of treatment. It is amazing to see the transformation in each girl as the days and weeks go by. Everything they see and experience around them motivates positive change for the girls and their families.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Cognitive therapy aims to help people rework the way they think by identifying underlying thoughts, beliefs, and emotions and modifying them in a positive and realistic way. The primary tenant of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is that negative and faulty patterns of thinking effects a person’s mood and behavior.
Mindfulness can be summed up as the practice and state of being aware of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions on a continuous basis (Greater Good Science Center, 2017). Mindfulness also contributes to an acceptance of the self as it is, without attaching value judgments to our thoughts.

Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT):

A form of cognitive based therapy that focuses on helping people increase their emotional and cognitive regulation by learning about the triggers that lead to reactive states. This aids in assessing which coping skills to apply in the sequence of events, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help avoid undesired reactions. DBT assumes that people are doing their best but lack the skills needed to succeed, or are influenced by positive reinforcement or negative reinforcement that interferes with their ability to function appropriately. This therapy is often used with those suffering from borderline personality disorder and depression.
